Lets talk flowers.....
We will be going this weekend to purchase flowers, but Im looking for something different. We usually always by impatiens (sp) but Im kinda sick of them.
Does anyone have a nice flower that will get as hearty as those and bloom lots of flowers?
What do you guys usually get? We are looking for annuals.

we usually plant impatiens too but last year in the front of the house which gets a ton of sun we tried begonia's and they grew in beautifully! I think i'm going to be using more of these this year!

Re: Lets talk flowers.....
I love begonias. They come with bronze leaves as well as the green ones for interesting color combinations.
Snapdragons are my favorites, and if you want a perennial, Sweet William. Snaps :
Sweet William (Dianthus)

Re: Lets talk flowers.....
Last year I did begonias in our side yard bed and they did great.
Then in the back we had wave petunias in one bed and marigolds in the other. Both got huge.
Wave petunias - they come in quite a few colors
marigolds
In the front beds I did geraniums last year and they got really big and lasted until mid-November.
My favorites are moss roses, but they don't flower continually, they flower for a few days and then a new bud starts. I haven't used them in a few years so I'm leaning towards them again.
Two years ago I used Gerber daisies, my dd loves them
ETA: We have dianthus in the back yard, so pretty.

Re: Lets talk flowers.....
Wave Petunias - because you do not have to dead head them like the regular petunias....They do well in full sun areas - Or most sun
Inpatiens do not do well in full sun - Half sun Half shade is what they need. They will spread like crazy.
Last year I planted a small yellow flower down my walkway. I do not know what they are called but with all the rain we had last year they got so huge.....I would love to get them again
Two days ago I planted some PHLOX in my perrenial garden....They spread like crazy and make a great ground covering.
