Lets talk Epcot

We will be taking our DS (4yrs, 7yrs) to Epcot for the first time in June. What are the must dos there. I've been as an adult, but not with kids. I hear they've made it more kid friendly.

Re: Lets talk Epcot

We had so much fun there...
The character spot by the ball was great. There was hardly a line twice so we got to hang out with Mickey, Minnie and Goofy for a while then the 2nd time instead of Goofy, Pluto was there. Kids LOVED that

Loved the Nemo ride. That was fun!
Never did Captain EO. Wasn't sure how the kids would like it
Journey into the Imagination is the same and felt like I was back in the 80's. Chat Icon Eh, the kids thought it was cute
Spaceship Earth was cool and the kids liked that they were part of it (you see your face)
I think there were one or two more we did, but the boys were (and still are since we just went in Oct) 4 and 2. Would've loved to done Sourin or the crash test ride, which I hear is awesome!

It was cool to see characters everywhere. Donald was in Mexico and we saw Mary Poppins and Alice walking around the countries. We also saw Night Ranger when walking around in America. Funny there was a long line too! It was perfect for us bc the boys were tired and napped later on so we went to the countries again and found it was the perfect time for some drinks. Chat Icon
Wasn't there for the fireworks, but here they're awesome there. Only went one day when we were there and it was on the night it closed early. Plus, it was raining a bit.

ETA - we had lunch at Coral Reef. Wish we went to a country to eat. IT was cool bc you are eating with a huge fish tank and watch divers, sharks, etc right in front of you, but food was ok and pricey. Nothing for the kids really.

Re: Lets talk Epcot

Just went their with my niece and nephews. They are 6.5 and 5.

The Living Seas was great. They had Turtle Talk with Crush which was cute. And they also had a ride, The Seas with Nemo and Friends.

The Land was also good. They made the height requirement for Soarin. And They really enjoyed the Living with the Land boat ride.

Then you have Journey into Imagination with Figment which is adorable. Then after the ride they have an interactive play area.

We did Ellen's Energy Adventure which was about a 45 minute ride. It kept them interested but not sure if I would recommend it for younger kids. It was a little loud at one point.

They were able to make it onto Test Track with their height.

We went into the World Showcase and did the boat ride in Mexico and the boat ride in Norway. They really enjoyed both.

I didn't think we would spend the whole day at Epcot but we did. And it was a fun time.

Enjoy your trip!

Soarin is a must do, very neat, my kids love it. Same for Test Track.

Malestrom in Norway is a boat ride, kind of scary since it's mostly dark, but we like it.

My kids LOVE Figment, ride is just a plain ol' ride, but Figment is cute. The stuff at the end of the ride is fun.

Captain EO is AWFUL, wouldn't waste your time. They shouldn't have got rid of Honey I shrunk the audience.

Nemo is cute

You can get a Duffy the Disney Bear or a Perry on a stick (unless they have changed it since last April) and have it stamped at the different countries. Also do the passports.

Agent P is fun, it's like a scavenger hunt. We did it when it was Kim Possible. They give you a phone, and you follow clues around the countries

Innoventions buildings are neat.

Is Soaring and Test Track appropriate for an almost 3yo and almost 5yo?

We plan to spend most of our time at Epcot and Animal Kingdom this time around. Our kids like AK and EP much more than MK and HS.

My kids really liked the Nemo ride and aquarium. There was no wait and we rode it multiple times. They also enjoyed going around the world and watching the various shows, meeting characters and riding rides if there was one to ride.

We skipped Epcot during our last trip to Orlando and my 4yo asked why we didn't visit the different countries so he could color bears. He told me that was his favorite part of Disney. I was really surprised that he said he didn't care for Dumbo, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, etc at MK's Fantasyland and liked Epcot more.

Lets talk Epcot

I love Epcot!! DD is currently 6. She loves Nemo, Talk time with Crush, the Three Caballeros (in Mexico), the Living with the Land ride is educational (there is a separate ticket admission to a Behind the Scenes tour of Living with the Land which is GREAT) and Journey with Figment. She loves all the character meet and greets. Starting at the character spot you can find: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto (inside), and Chip & Dale and Daisy (sometimes) outside. In the UK you can find Alice and Mary Poppins. In France you can find Aurora and Belle. In Germany you can find Snow White. In Morocco you can find Jasmine and Aladdin. Donald Duck hangs out in Mexico in addition to the character spot. In China you can find Mulan. Duffy the Disney Bear also has his own meet and greet. You also get random characters appearing. We've seen Rafiki, King Louie and Max wandering around. The acrobats in China are AWESOME!!!!! The drummers in Japan are also outstanding. The fife and drum and a cappella group in the US are wonderful. The caramel shop in Germany is HEAVEN!!!!

Depending on the height of the kids there is Soarin' and Test Track. Innovations has some interesting educational stuff set up like a game (about saving money and fire safety).

If your 3 year old is tall enough then yes. 44" is the height requirement for both, as well as the Malestrom I believe. 40" not 44
