Leg stuck in crib side

My 1 year old keeps getting his leg stuck in the side of his crib...last night was the worse it took me 5 minutes to get it out while he was screaming. It was all red and swollen for over an hour afterwards. I'm so afraid he is gonna get it broken. Or dislocated it while we are trying get it out

Any advice on what i could do to stop it? My oldest never did this and the bumpers dont work he just uses them as a step to try to climb out.

So not ready for him to be in a toddlet bed.

Tia

Oh my gosh, poor baby.

Have you tried those bumpers that weave in and out each rail? I wonder if that would help more than a standard bumper. I don't remember the name for them but definitely saw them when I was bumper-shopping. You may also be able to get the same effect with breathable bumpers bc they are pliable enough to weave.

Np - hope it works out. Also be sure the bumper is lower than the mattress so he can't jam it between the bumper and top of the mattress.

How about wonder bumpers? DD couldn't get her leg through those. They're really the best!

Wonder bumpers worked for my son! He ended up doing this for attention because we would come running in. He wasn't able to get his leg through with these even if he really tried.

My son did this and then one time I could not get him out I had to call 911, fire department came and cut the crib slat to get him out! It can be very scary, luckily he never did it again!
