Leaving nail holes in an Apt. you're leaving

My dear-darling husband thinks i'm abnormal for filling up the nail holes I've created on the walls of our rental we're leaving.

He'd like to see what you all have to say about this.

Would you do this? Or leave it for the owner and/or new tenant to take care of?

i think it kind of depends...when i lived in a complex, i went crazy putting putty in the holes..but then after awhile, i couldnt bear it anymore and gave up

i got my deposit back in full.

(i think pretty much all normal wear&tear is ok)

ive also lived in a private apt in someones home and didn't fill them in (there were only a handful) and everything was fine.

usually the first thing done is the landlord paints it all fresh after u move.

we hated, hated, hated our management company...we even bought toothpaste to do this because we'd heard that was the way to go, but ended up just using spackle...we had issues with them and didn't want them coming after us for something dumb...

I've always filled any holes I made. I don't want to give them any excuse to not give me my security back.

I never filled in picture holes. Granted, I never really hung too many things on the wall so we are talking maybe 5-10 nail holes (depending on the apt). I would have filled it in if the wall chipped or if there was more damage but not just a nail hole. I always got my security deposits back.
