Leave of absence
So my son was diagnosed with sensory processing disorder, I think there is more underlying but for now he’s so young and this fits. He’s extremely aggressive, is irritable all day and in general a mess to put it. I have PFL for my child with asthma and I use days here and there but I’m considering taking the full 10 weeks to try and help my son get set with therapy and his word. My husband is still working at home but his job is very demanding I worked through this whole thing my hours got changed as well I now work 4 evenings until 10pm. I’m thinking of taking a full 10 weeks of leave to get him set with therapy etc while my husband is home but then I think ok, 10 weeks is great but then what? How will his behavior look etc. I’m so confused. I’m thinking of seeing if I can get it intermittently for him and used just as needed? Has anyone done this?

Yes. If this is something you can afford to do.. I would def take a leave of absence. However, I would hold off until he can get services in person. It would be much more beneficial for him. In the meantime, I would look into...
*Nemenchek Protocol
*Craniosacral therapy
*Neuro Chiropractor (very likely he has an under developed nervous system). Dr. Glassman in Plainview or Leon Chiropractor in Stony Brook
*SSP (Safe and Sound Protocol): This will help a lot with his aggression AND any sound sensitivity
*MAKE an appt at Stepping Stones. They are located in Mt. Kisco, BUT the only place that truly offers SLP (sensory learning program)

****GOOGLE Retained Primitive Reflexes**** His aggression can stem from a retained moro reflex (flight or fight). You can find these exercises on youtube for free. Start with the moro exercise for 30 days and then move on to the next reflex.
Join the QRI Cold Laser support group on FB. Educate your self on Low level light therapy (LLLT). It helps integrate the nervous system (in a short period of time).

Thank you for responding. Taking a leave is financially fine. If this was 5 years ago I would have panicked but thankfully things have changed for us so I’m willing to take off whatever time needed. My husband also carries our insurance so I’m not worried about having to pay for it.
Thank you for all the recommendations. I work as a BCBA so I utilize behavior based interventions for behaviors that are sensory maintained. He’s been evaluated multiple times but still has no services from my district. He has another CPSE next week and I’m hoping he will qualify this time. I’ll look into the chiropractic service first. He has very low muscle tone as well and is delayed in gross motor domains too. He complains how uncomfortable he is all the time so this may help. He doesn’t have any visual or auditory concerns; all input is related to proprioceptive and vestibular seeking. I feel that the sensory components need to be addressed so we can work on the behaviors and anxiety

Wonderful! Sounds like you are in a good spot. That's awesome.
He def sounds like retained reflexes. Moro and ATNR for proprioceptive and vestibular.
You may also want to get a comprehensive eye exam. A prism lens may help with the proprioception.
