Lease and Repairs

If you lease a car do you know if any repairs are covered under the lease? Or are you on your own? Not talking about oil change and maintence but something major like a sensor or a battery? The car is only almost 3 years old and the lease is almost up and it would not start this morning and the engine light is on now.

TIA!

Re: Lease and Repairs

I think it depends on the mileage on your car, but I am not 100% sure on that

I think you should be o.k. One week before I turned in my lease car (I had about 35,000 miles) my car completely died and my engine light always came on and I was never charged. You can always call the dealership.
Oh, and when my car didn't turn on it was towed for free.

Re: Lease and Repairs

anything that is covered under the warranty.

I don't think a battery is. It's a consumable like brakes. But the battery itself should have a warranty. Hmm...now I'm not sure.

Re: Lease and Repairs

I'm in the same boat. I will let you know on Saturday when I turn it in.
My lease isn't up until August. But, I have hit the max mileage for the lease and I am over by 1,000. At exactly 45,000 miles the check engine light went onChat Icon . So I am hoping its covered under the warranty still.
