learning to pick up food
how do i get my twins to learn to pick up food..like puffs etc?
i am thinking just put it on tray in the high chair?
i did that a few times and they had no interest..do i just keep doing it and they will get the hang of it?

How old are they? Some babies develop their pincer grip at different ages.
I did exactly what you are doing…started around 7 months. I put a few in her mouth so she knew it was food and what it tasted like and then a few on her tray. She mostly played with them the first few times and little by little she would pick one up or they would stick to her finger lol and she would get one in. Now at 9 months she is really good at picking all different types of food up!

I kinda just put them on the tray then put one in their mouth. Hannah took a bit longer to get it. She gets them in her fist and keeps her hand in her mouth while she chews.

Tiny Tot was 7 months when I introduced puffs. I put a bunch on her tray and let her figure it out. I also put one in her mouth and in mine to help her out. Your twins will get the hang of it

who knows, lol dd is just about 9 months and if I put puffs on her tray, she gets MAD. she does NOT like them there and gets annoyed when she tries to shove them off and they stick to her hand. and if I try to feed her one, forget it

Ds is going to be 6 months next weekend and I have been putting food on his tray for about 2 weeks now.
We don't really do baby food and he gets everything we get for meals.
I put the food on hips tray with every meal for practice. He doesn't get it yet right now he just slams his hands on the tray (flinging food every where lol) trying to pick something up. Sometimes he gets lucky and can get something in his mouth.
Eventually they will get it just keep giving them the puffs on the tray for practice.

My DD really "got it" at about 9-10 months. From about 6 months old, when she started real table food, I would always put tiny pieces of food on her tray while I fed her. She would play with it and eventually, figured out how to feed herself. Took a little while but she got it. Just keep putting food in front of them, they will get it.

G I also put the puffs in their mouth and I even show them popping one into mine. They gag and make nasty faces. They jhate puffs! They're 9mo today and they still push them around the tray and make a mess. Maybe Cheerios?
