Lazy kid!

So my second DS who will be 4 soon is just so lazy! His older brother will go from soccer to baseball then go swim and loves to run can go on and on. He's not the most athletic kid, but he's happy and never complains even if he's playing in 100 degrees.
His younger brother on the other hand... Ugh! He will be sitting watching the game complaining he's tired. Tired of what?! Sitting and eating? I ask him if he wants to play like his brother and his response always is usually... "No thank you. I think I'll be tired."
If we walk somewhere he starts to complain he's tired.
It's nothing to do with napping or getting enough sleep. He does and he's a happy boy, but oh he will complain.
Is my DS the only lazy 3 (almost 4) year old?

ETA - I do see him in action once in a while. At birthday parties he can go on and on. He does love to eat though and still so skinny.

My brother was like that... but never skinny, and never ate a lot. He was a meatball... and you'd have to bribe him to do ANYTHING. I can remember when we went to DISNEY... DISNEY, he was told that there would be a lot of walking and he started whining, and my aunt and mom told him that the mickey bouncers would take him out of the park if he whined. He had a great time (what kid wouldn't have a great time in Disney), but he was "always" tired. My mom had him in sports though, he was always doing something, but he was the slowest, chubbiest kid on the team. Then he hit 12 years old, hit puberty and shot up about a foot and change and became a string bean.

Yes! My daughter will be 4 in 2 weeks & she always asks to stay in her PJs & have a lazy day.
She could watch tv all day if I let her.
On a typical day we usually have plans in the morning (school, visiting grandparents or just running errands) we come home for lunch & if we have to go back out it's a complete meltdown because she's too tired to do anything.
Lately I've been bringing lunch & just staying out all day so I don't have to deal with her whining. Once we're out she's usually ok but she does say she's tired then too. I guess it's just her personality.

Mine can both be like this - I have to force them out the door and into something engaging.

My older son LOVES ice hockey, loves to skate ........he can easily go a full practice/game and then beg to stay for free skate.
But at baseball he's tired, he's dragging, he runs the bases like he's being sent to the electric chair ........
it has to be something HE is into.
He will swimi in the pool for hours .......

My little one is more easy going, but I also have to force him into something - Once I get them GOING .....they go - but I have to push to get them going.

Is your son very social? Both of mine will run around anywhere for hours and play with other kids - they WILL play with each other, but with other friends or cousins, or even random 'new friends' they make at the park they will go go go ......

omg!!! this is my son!!! he's 4.5 (will be 5 in november)...and he can just be so lazy sometimes!!! he literally will not play by himself at home. Legos, trains, play dough.... nope!!! its "mommy! can you build me a train track?" i suggest he "surprises me" and does one himself... and then its "nah- i'm too tired...." GRRRR!!!!
BUT on the other hand, he doesn't stop moving!!! just like bouncing off the couch, doing karate moves, whatever.... so how can he be too tired to sit and build his own train track??
its also tough to get him moving in the AMs. i'm a SAHM, so we don't have to leave the house super early... but the days he has preschool, its like pulling teeth!!! LOL and then i try to get the dog to go out before we leave, and he drags his feet, too!! HAHA its like a comedy show!
i think in my DS's case its that he's an only child, i'm home with him-- and he gets bored. when he has other kids (like on a playdate or at the playground or whatever) he seems to perk up and have energy to run around with them.... so its just that he's really social and needs constant "new" stuff (like new kids, etc) SOOO for now i'm stuck running around like a nut to playdates, activities, etc to keep him busy

To answer some questions... yes, he's very social and loves his friends and playing with them. He also does play by himself well, but will take out a few toys around him and sit and play. When it's time to clean up I get (with a big whine)... "But Mommy, I'm so tired and it's hard!"
When he does that I have the rule that if I clean it up it then becomes my toy and it goes on a high shelf in the closet. Suddenly he gets a little energy to clean up. I do have some games up there still.

He can sit on the bleachers or in a chair we take to his older brother's games and eat and snack, drink, etc. He will sit and complain he's tired. He is a very good eater and lots of healthy foods, gets plenty of sleep (sleeps great through the night and wakes happy), doesn't really nap unless in the car for a while, and does have energy when it's something he wants. Suddenly he's lazy and whiney. Boys! I guess it's just his personality. His older brother stopped going in the stroller way before his younger brother. I still take the stroller for him at the mall.

if i let him...Ian would spend all day in pjs playing video games. it's a fight to get him out of the house but once he's out he's usually good.

DS is turning 4 in a couple of weeks and his new favorite thing to say when I ask him to do something is, "But I'm tired!" He could have just woken up and he's "tired."

My son wasn't very interested in traditional sports until this year, right around the time he turned seven. However, even before then, he moved around a lot and he loved gymnastics. He has never been great about very hot days. It sounds like just a personality difference compared to your other son but maybe you want to ask the doctor if your son is anemic. Sometimes that just happens for no real reason.
