Laying/Sleeping on your back

When are you NOT supposed to do this? I'm almost 17 weeks...I usually sleep on my side anyway, but sometimes I wake up on my back..Is it bad for the baby at this point? I've been trying to use the body pillow to support me on my side more.

They say after 28 weeks it poses a potential risk. Its also ok if you wake on your back- just flip over to your side. You will know if there is an issue being on your back- you wiil get dizzy and lightheaded and short of breath Chat Icon

I lay on my back a lot and my dr said the same thing. She also said it will start getting uncomfortable to lay on my back around that time so I'll know...

I am 39w and I still sleep on my back - I was never told not to and I am only comfy in that position

Re: Laying/Sleeping on your back

"Your pregnancy week by week" said to stop at 17 weeks!

I am a back sleeper hardcore ever since we got our tempurpedic, so whether it's now or later, I'm going to start getting out of the habit now!
