To "fix" a lawn for next year, is now the tme to seed?

EVERYONE suggests seeding now for strong lawns next year. i just did, but didn't do it with all my usual gusto... i kinda half-assed it, so i'll be lucky if they take.

I think so. Although we maintain our lawn (cut, etc) we have a landscaper that does all the fertiliizing. Last week he aerated and seeded. I have to say the aeration made it look like my little dog pooped all over the lawn...not the greatest look but I hear it's great for the lawn.

Yes! Whatever doesn't grow now will germinate over the winter. Try to do it before Oct begins.

in the heat of the summer, there is a little secret to put whatever seeds you have in the fridge/ freezer for ~20 minutes, then spread.
the seeds like coolness and it begins the germination process (is that how you spell germination?)
it works for me everytime. i didn't this time tho b/c it's cool out already.
