DS spit up a little bit on his christening outfit. Not a lot, it's not even discolored - just a bit "hard" from being dried on. The instructions are "Dry Clean Only". It is a satin material (100% polyester) I want to take him to have pictures taken, but don't really feel like paying to have it dry cleaned. Do you think I could wash it on gentle? Why would it state Dry Clean if it is polyester satin?

I would just pay to have it dry cleaned. Im sure it will cost a lot more to replace the whole outfit than dry cleaning. In my opinion certain articles of clothing are dry clean only for a reason.

How much could it cost to dry clean?

Can you spot clean? I would get a damp towel and spray some spot cleaner on the towel and try to wipe it off.

I would use a warm wash cloth and gently pat at the spot and try to get it out. I would never dry clean something for a baby. They use horrible chemicals.

I wash my dry clean only stuff in the hand wash setting on my washer and then hang dry. All the clothes still look perfect.
