Late walkers

OK.. please tell me I'm not alone here Chat Icon
Addison is 13 months and isn't walking yet. she cruises along the couch and tables, even pushes her walker fine... but won't let go of my hands while walking... she even stands up on her own in the middle of the floor and dances, but won't take a step... I guess that I'm not used to this because my other 2 walked at 10-11 months.

Are there other late walkers here?

Re: Late walkers

My dd was a late walker...didn't really try to walk until 14-15 months old. Now, she runs around. My advise...enjoy it while it lasts because it's so true that when they start walking...they start running!

Re: Late walkers

my son was 17 months when he finally started to walk on his own well. There is no need to worry. you have plenty of time. its not a concern till 18 months. she will be walking in no time. Chat Icon

Perfectly fine.

Neither of mine are walking and they are 1.

Peds and EI do not become concerned until after 18 months.

Honestly, I'm glad my kids didn't walk early because I know they'll go off in two different directionsChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Yup both my boys were. Jack started around 15 months and Kevin followed at 16 months. Now they run so fast I can't believe i ever worried about it.

Re: Late walkers

DD just learned a few weeks ago when she was 15 months old. I thought she'd never walk, but now she's trying to run!

Re: Late walkers

DS was a late walker. He was not walking at his 1st b-day but if I remember he was either 13 or 14 months old.

I never thought 13 mos. was late--if anything, isn't it average? DD#1 began walking at 13 months and DD#2 will be 11 mos next Tuesday and we're still waiting.
