Laparoscopy ???
Hi Ladies, I have a laparoscopy with hysteroscopy scheduled for tomorrow. A little nervous, but a lot less than I was before reading up on it. I just had a few questions and was hoping you could help. #1. How soon were you able to ? #2. How soon did the scars heal? I am going on vacation in a little over a week and I was wondering if I can wear a bathing suit or go in the water. #3. I have wraps on my fingers. I took the nail polish off but the nurse at the preop told me its ok to leave the wraps on. Did anyone leave theirs on? Was it a big issue? #4. Was a catheter inserted during surgery? Thank you for any and all help.

Re: Laparoscopy ???
Hi! It is a little nerve wracking but everything will be fine. I had one done 2 years ago and to be honest it was painful afterwards, but definitely neccessary.
#1. MY doctor told me to wait until the check-up and depending on how I am healing would determine how much longer to wait. For me I had to wait about 2.5 weeks after the procedure and it still hurt a little, so DH had to be gentle. #2. My scars are still noticeable but that is because a couple of weeks later we went to the beach and I tanned and it darkened the scars. They are small incisions, maybe the size of a pinky nail. I would not go into the water until your check up and what the doctor recommends. #3. No wraps here. Sorry. #4. I did not have a catheter inserted.
The first 2-3 days i was still very sore, but it eased up as time passed. Hope this helps. Good luck!
