laparoscopy
Would you get a laparoscopy before moving on to IVF, just to see if everything is there and to check for endometriosis? I had a HSG and everything looked good and I have had no history of endo. RE said it is an option if the next 2 iui's don't work before we move on to IVF. just wanted to get some opinions.

Re: laparoscopy
I wouldn't have surgery unless my RE had recommended it, is yours telling you you can do it but it isn't vital or is he saying that you should do it? There is a big difference in my opinion. If he says you should do it then I would, it really isn't bad recovery wise, but I wouldn't put your body through the anaesthesia etc. unless it is necessary.

Re: laparoscopy
I wouldn't go straight to laparoscopy - but I would consider a hysteroscopy. Only because it A: Clears any scar tissue from your cervix and helps with cervical stenosis B: Gives the Dr. a much clearer picture of your uterus, so that if there is anything preventing pregnancy (shape, fibroids, etc) they can address it.

Re: laparoscopy
My RE recommended it and found endometriosis and it was ablated. Now we're trying naturally prior to going forward. A hysteroscopy will only see inside the uterus. Laprascopy will see outside the uterus and it's the only wasy to diagnosis endo
Best of luck

Re: laparoscopy
I had a laparoscopy but only in conjunction with a hysteroscopy, D and C and tubal lavage after being diagnosed with severe cervical stenosis. I was going to be put under a general anesthetic anyway, so it made sense to do all of the diagnostic procedures at once.

Re: laparoscopy
I had a laparoscopy by my RE's recommendation so he could "map things out". Through all my various tests, this confirmed that I indeed only had 1 ovary and 1 tube.
