Laparascopy before IVF

Hi

Anyone here have laparascopic surgery? I'm having a cyst (that may be a dermoid, or may be an endometrioma) removed on Oct 5th. Wondering how long the recovery period is and if anyone has any experience of IVF post-lap? How long did you have to wait before proceeding with IVF? We're moving back to the US (from the UK) in early Nov and our assisted conception unit is pushing us to do IVF before we go, but my gut is telling me it's too soon. Dr is suggesting I go on the pill with my next period (coming tomorrow most likely) so that I'll already be down-regged before the procedure in order to proceed with IVF asap.

Any thoughts?
