Lap Tomorrow!
I have my laparoscopy tomorrow.. I am so nervous! Nervous of what they will find, being at the hospital, IVs, everything (I know i will have to get used to this if I one day have a baby).
Last time I was under general anesthesia I was so sick when I woke up. Anyone have any words of advice?
Oh and not to be too TMI, but I am on liquid diet right now and drinking magnesium sulfate.

Re: Lap Tomorrow!
You might get nauseous from the anesthesia. The first lap I had I was really sore by my shoulders and chest because they fill you up with a gas and apparently the pain was from the gas trying to escape. The second lap I didn't have that pain. I had some light cramps but that was it. I felt much better. Just try and take it easy the first few days. Good luck!

Re: Lap Tomorrow!
Just make sure you keep moving your arms and shoulders around after your surgery. That will help keep the gas from pooling in one spot. I felt ok after my lap. I had Lap, HSG & D&C Done all at the same time and I woke to minor cramping. Got a nice dose of morphine and went home. Took tylenol a couple times but I honestly felt fine.
Good Luck!!
P.S. Yes, the prep the night before is sucky. My belly still hurt the morning of

Re: Lap Tomorrow!
You can get meds to take from the Dr which combats the nausea! I've had to be knocked out 3 times (once for wisdom teeth removal and 2 hand surgeries) and got really sick the first time. I took the meds the next 2 times and had no effects from the anesthesia. They aren't prescription so if you call, they probably can tell you what to get- you take them the morning of the procedure with a small sip of water.
