Lancaster Recommendations? *We are back and loved it!*
Going with DH to Lancaster next month and staying in a B&B. Any recommendations on things to see and places to eat? Going to check out Hershey one day and also going to Kitchen Kettle Village in Intercourse another day.
The innkeeper is friends with an Amish family and is setting up a dinner for us with them one night. Should be interesting.
Update:
Just wanted to update the post to let everyone know Lovelace Manor was fabulous. The Rose Suite was perfect and the innkeepers there were so sweet! It was the perfect location too. Close to Lanaster City, Hershey, Amish attractions, etc. Can't wait to go back!

Re: Lancaster Recommendations?
you'll need a whole day in hershey, particularly if you are going to the park. There are outlets in Hershey as well as in Lancaster. there is no sales tax on clothes in PA, so you really can save a lot of money there in addition to the sales.
your dinner with an Amish family should be awesome. How interesting...
It's so sad that I lived in Lancaster Co. for over 4 years (went to college there) and can't think of anything else to do! any of the family style restaurants are good... Amish stuff... shopping.... that's about it!

Re: Lancaster Recommendations?
dinner with the Amish family sounds like fun.
You can take a drive on the backroads and explore the area.

Can I ask what BB&B you're staying at? my dh and I love Amish Country and have gone a few times together but we never had dinner with an Amish family and it sounds really interesting.
The outlets there are really good and the foodat Plain and Fancy is great (esp the fried chix).

Sure we are staying here in the Rose Suite...

Did lots of research prior to booking and they got great reviews on tripadvisor.com. I have also emailed her a few times to set up massages, early check in, etc. and they have been great so far. We are looking forward to it!
