Lamaze

I am sure this has been asked a miilion times, but i am curious as to what everyone has done...

I am 33 weeks, so i really need to make my decision!

I took it with my 1st pregnancy but will not take this time around.

I actually just signed up for this today. It's a four week class, two hours a week.

The nurse said they go over how to tell if you're in labor, pain management procedures at the hospital, breathing techniques etc. So while some of the stuff I may not use or may not be helpful, I like the idea of being as prepared as possible.

I didn't take it. We weren't able to find a class that worked with our schedule.

We just did a hospital tour.

I watched the Laugh and Learn Childbirth video instead and found it very helpful.

didn't do it.. i just looked up stuff on youtube and i do yoga so there breathing et all is covered..

I took a childbirth/lamaze class at my hospital. I knew some of the info already, but it was good for DH to see some of the videos and hear the information himself. I haven't used it yet, but it just made me feel a little better about being prepared about knowing when to go to the hospital and all the things that will/could happen, even though I've heard stories from friends. Also, they practiced some breathing techniques with us. We'll see if those come in handy

I took a Lamaze class that my OBGYN office offered after hours in their lobby. They had a nurse come in and she did the course.

I found it very helpful, not just with delivery but other things. I ended up having a c-section but was glad that I took the course.

And I met some great friends there! One of the Moms and I have kept in touch this whole time and our daughters are great friends!

just signed up yesterday through good sam. its a childbirth/lamaze class with tour of hospital included.

I did not take it with my 1st pregnancy. I am not sure if it would have been helpful if i did take it but the nurses and Dr were extremely helpful during the labor and delivery.

Once I got the epidural I was fine. No need for lamaze. So if you don't plan on getting drugs then maybe lamaze would be helpful. I can't really say but I had no trouble without the classes pushing the baby out.

I took lamaze.

At first I was on the fence. My OB talked me into it a bit because I was scared to death of labor

I went to lamaze...and it helped ease my fears entirely, helped me understand the stages of labor, how I was feeling, how I'd be acting, things to look for...and when I went into labor, I was completely calm.

Completely worth every penny IMO.

Not taking it, but we are going to get some DVDs that my doctor recommended. Hopefully that coupled with all of the yoga I have been doing will be helpful.

I took it with my first...I flunked the breathing lol with my background I do deep breathing and lamaze is shallow and goes against what I do but I did enjoy the class and I am glad I took it. The main reason was to ease my mind a little and more to help dh! Plus for us it was date night. My dh worked crazy hours but he had to be home in time for that!
