lamaze???
What do you do in lamaze? Do you really lay on the floor? What do they do for two hours? It seems so long.

Re: lamaze???
DH and I are doing lamaze right now. It's once a week for 2 and a half hours and it's for 4 weeks. Tonight will be our 3rd class.
Well at the first class we didn't really do anything. It was just talk talk talk talk and talk about the woman's body during pregnancy and all the pregnancy terms we've become familiar with like what is the placenta, dilation, effacement...etc etc. It was very informative don't get me wrong but after working all day it's hard to listen for 2 and a half hours...At one point I thought DH was going to fall asleep I thought he was going to.
Last week was a little better cuz we did the breathing techniques. DH liked it better then. Yes we did sit on the floor, on your pillows of course. The breathing does help you relax especially when you've been at work all day, but I don't know how these breathing techniques will help you relax during the pain of labor...Tonight I think we are going to review the breathing techniques and learn how to push the baby out.

Re: lamaze???
the class we just took wasn't like this that at all. It was a Friday and Saturday for three hours each. It was given at my dr's office. We learned everything from where to park the car when we arrive at the hospital to how to take care of the baby when we get home. The lamaze part was only like an hour tops between both days, they taught us each kind of breathing technique and had us practice them. They also taught us how to push the baby out when the time comes! It was a great class b/c we learned EVERYTHING in between about what to expect.

Re: lamaze???
Well it depends on the type of class you take. This is class is not the one that the hospital offers. So they can't teach us where to park our car because this class is inside a room in a church. The woman who teaches it is a registered nurse I believe. Actually mine is 5 weeks. 4 weeks is Lamaze and the extra week is a BF class.
There are so many types of Lamaze classes out there. You have look into what each one offers.
