Re: Lake George
The village of Lake George is rather small...I wouldnt say there are "good" or "bad" areas. Bolton Landing, which is a town or two over, is a very nice area. But if you want to be able to walk into the village of LG, you wont be able to do it if you stay in Bolton. It really depends on what you're looking for - do you want to be in the village, in walking distance to everything?

That's actually right where we stayed, too. It was nice, but the house we rented was "lakeview" and I think you could only see the lake if you stood on the roof.
I think if you google "visit Lake George" there's a site that will send you a free information booklet. It was really helpful. We only ended up in Bolton Landing because it was close to this place "Adirondack Extreme" which is an adventure course through the treetops with ziplines and rope bridges and climbing walls. It was so much fun but CRAZY hard. There were 5 levels and we only did 4! My hand was like a claw after those 4 levels! lol!
