Ladies, please, please wash your hands a ton!
I have this damn stomach virus again (still since Saturday) and I am so incredibly sick. Please wash your hands as many times as you can!!! I thought I was good about it, but I guess I wasn't good enough about it. I'm on my third day of not being able to eat anything and I'm finally keeping water down. So please, everyone take care of yourselves!!!

Be careful the sanitizer doesn't kill the stomach bug b/c it is a virus. That is only good to kill for bacteria. Make sure to wash w/ hot soapy water.

Interesting! I never even thought of this! I was substituting the MULTIPLE hand washing throughout the day with using Purell at my desk, but will go back to the extra handwashing instead! Especially since some people around here are getting sick!

I know I am still keeping my fingers crossed I don't get it. My DD had it Sat into Sun and then got sick again today. I'm trying hard to wash my hands, but with a 2yo literally getting sick on you, I think it's just a cr@pshoot at this point whether or not I get it.

Yeah really sorry. Purell is an antibacterial hand gel. Not an antiviral. The only antiviral gels are usually used in the medical fields as a combo w/ the antibacterial. Even with those you need to wash often b/c then you just have dead bacteria on your hands. My rule of thumb is wash your hands after you go to the bathroom (no brainer), before you eat, and right away when you get home.
I swear hand washing is the #1 way to avoid getting sick. It really works. Don't stress too much about getting sick or you will suppress your immune system from the stress.

Rachel, is your doctor taking a sample to find out what kind of virus it is? Remember last year I posted that I had a nasty case of Campylobacter? It lasted for ages, got better and worse. Ask your doctor to do a culture for you! Feel better!!!

I don't think that's true about Purell...
The Purell website says :

Feel better!! I had the same virus. I was admitted into stonybrook Monday morning because of it. I was so dehydrated from throwing up and not being able to keep anything down.
I just got home yesterday morning.
