Lack of Movement?

Usually when I wake up in the morning, our Chat Icon is kicking away. This morning, nothing, though I did get up a bit earlier than usual.

Since then, nothing all morning, though that's not so unusual. I usually don't get much movement till after lunch, then more in the evening.

I really wish there was somewhere at work where I could lie down, that usually gets him moving, but there is not place.

How long would you wait before calling the doctor? After lunch? Sooner? I keep thinking everything is fine and this is just a fluke.

TIA!

Try something with sugar. Chocolate, juice, soda and then wait 30 minutes. If you don't feel then, call the dr. One of the first things they will ask you is if you tried juice yet.

Re: Lack of Movement?

Thanks for the suggestion. I did just feel a few little kicks, so I'm feeling much better! Though I guess I'll have to see if the movement seems diminished as the day continues.

Lately I've been feeling a lot of movement--when there is nothing for awhile, I do get nervous.

Re: Lack of Movement?

Don't worry, I feel the same way. I was almost in a panic this morning because I didn't feel anything all morning. Then I felt a little kick on my way to work and breathed a HUGE sigh of relief. I said to myself I would wait until lunch to call if I still felt nothing.

Also, there are some days where she is more active than others. Like Wed she was rolling, and making my tummy lopsided all day. Then yesterday she only did a few jabs here and there. Movement, but not as much.

My DS was a big mover and shaker so I used to get really nervous if he didnt move...I would have a couple of days where he wouldnt move much and then he would be back to normal. I asked my doctor and he said that it was probably just a growth spurt..BUT to make sure there was at least the 10 per 2 hour movements.

Re: Lack of Movement?

Thanks for the posts! I did get a bit more movement after lunch. I had a coke today--I am feeling wiped out myself and could use the caffeine. So between that and the food, there has been some kicking.

My baby is not a big kicker, but I do have constant movement, pretty often through the day at this point. And I almost always feel kicking in the morning. Maybe it is a growth spurt, or maybe my baby is sleepy today too.

I can't imagine how nervous I will be when this child is born--I'll probably check that he's breathing every 5 minutes!
