Labor question, but please don't move, need BTDT's
Question......I have 2 kids already, but never went into labor on my own. With DS my water broke, no labor got induced 10 days before my due date. With DD I was induced the day after my due date. That being said I am due this Friday, at my 39 week visit I was 3 cm dilated, Dr stripped my membranes, I had a lot of cramping after and my contractions are very random and only occasionally painful. TMI I have been losing my mucous plug for 2 days now and its a lot.....is that normal? I still have cramping that comes and goes, sometimes I feel like I'm being stabbed on the vag and lots of pressure. Is all of this normal for laboring on your own? Am I going to end up having this kid in my kitchen? Lol. Just never did any of this on my own and I'm nervous that something will go wrong. Is it possible that I won't go into labor hard on my own, but will keep dilating?
TIA!

This all sounds normal to me. I lost my mucus plug over the course of a week and had those stabbing pains for a while too. When i started "real" labor there was an obvious difference in the level of pain and the contractions were timeable. Good luck! Hope you LO makes an appearance soon!

sounds fine...this could go on for a few days, maybe some false labor but eventually the contractions will become more of a pattern and get closer together. keep count in case you move fast!

All sounds normal to me. One the mucus plug comes out, it is usually only a day or 2 before baby comes!!!

Can I put you on speed dial
Thanks for putting my mind at ease ladies. I never knew there could be SO much mucus and never expected to be waiting this long after hearing I was 3 cm.

Re: Labor question, but please don't move, need BTDT's
I was dilated 1 cm since my 36 week appointmen and felt highly uncomfortable with contractions on and off, for a couple hours at a time, since 38 weeks. I knew it was it when the contractions lasted regularly for more than 3 hours. They just felt different. Also, I had A LOT of discharge (mostly whitish with streaks of red). Lastly, I found myself having several BM's after I woke up in labor. This is all exactly what my mom, a 5 kid veteran, kept telling me would happen and she was exactly right.
