Labor? Maybe?

Last night when DH and I got home from dinner I kept having BH. They were coming every 9 minutes for a good hour, then every 7 minutes, then every 5. Since DS came fairly quick I decided to head to L&D. When I got there I was contracting every 3 minutes and continued that way for 2 hours. Since I was only a fingertip dilated they sent me home. I'm still having contractions and they are slightly painful, but they are more sporadic now.

I don't know what's going on! But I didn't sleep all night and I'm exhausted. I'm only 36 weeks so hoping in a way these contractions stop!

Anyone ever have this happen and they didn't go into full blown labor? I thought it was weird that they didn't even put me on an IV. I was out all day yesterday and maybe overdid it? I thought the 2nd time around was supposed to be easier?!

I've been having contractions or 16 days!!!! Been to labor and delivery 2x. I'm surprised they didn't give you fluids to try to back them off a bit. What's helped me is lots of resting and lots of fluid. Some days are worse than others that's for sure.

I'm 37.5 weeks and have regular BH now. Not really timeable all the time but definitely regular. I just drink lots and try to move positions to ward them off. I am not dilated as per my internal on Thursday and I was basically told it's my body's way of preparing. But if they get noticeably more painful or you start to lose your plug that's when I would call and/or head back to L&D.

I've had lots of BH but these were real contractions showing on the monitor every 3 min! They've slowed down so I'm thinking I was just dehdydrated. MrsP I hope you feel better!

I have been getting them randomly since this past weekend! They feel more intense than BH and they will come and go over the course of a few hours, but they don't seem to have any kind of pattern. sometimes they are 20 min apart, sometimes 5 min, sometimes 10 min. I am usually fine in the morning and then will start getting them around 3/4 in the afternoon, and then they will come and go until I go to bed. I don't know what they are really supposed to feel like so it makes me nervous every time!!

ive never had this happen to me but i dont blame you for being confused! what does your doc say? can you go to the office to get checked? or be told what to look for so you know when to head to l&d again?

The contractions finally stopped after drinking tons of water. I think dehydration was causing them. Crazy that they were coming every 3 min but luckily they weren't strong enough to change my cervix. Now with every pain I'm wondering if they are coming back!
