Lab Corp?

So my insurance no longer accepts Quest, but they do accept Lab Corp. I tried to call the one closest to me and for the third time, was put on hold after hearing a messge and then hung up on!
How am I supposed to get in touch with these people if I can't get through to them on the phone?

Re: Lab Corp?

You can go without an appointment, but my doctor's office wanted their fax number to fax over a prescription for my 3-hour glucose.

Luckily, I realized you can look it up online and they have all of the locations (there are a lot), numbers (including fax) and hours.

Chat Icon do we all have oxford? I guess I'm lucky, all my tests are in office. I did make a big deal when I changed drs. at the beginnning of the year that they can't use Quest for me...which is fine. I had tests run through Quest with my first dr. and it took MONTHS to get the bills straight on their end.

I am not thrilled with the change to Lab Corp. I find Quest was faster and more efficient.Chat Icon

United Health Care did not switch to Lab Corp from Quest..while it is true that you can no longer use Quest Diagnostics you still have other options. UHC sent out this letter stating that they had switched to Quest but the letter was worded incorrectly and both UHC and LabCorp has received lot and lots of flack since then...Im sure that this is the case for many other Insurance Carriers so check with your provider and see what other Lab options you have...

I had a personal experience with this in January and was appalled at what Lab Corp tried to do.

I have Oxford too and got an EOB from my 1 hour glucose, I SO hope they pay for my 3 hour one too!

I actually am happy b/c the Quest near me blows, but I have NO idea where Lab Corp even IS. I am 33 weeks, maybe I won't even have to goChat Icon

I've heard Lab Corp is better tho.Chat Icon

My mom has United and she told me about this. But my EOB was from Oxford themselves and said that Quest is no longer who they use and that Quest is now an out of network provider as of January 1, 2007.

I told the dr.'s office that my insurance was no longer using Quest and now using Lab Corp. She knew about it but also told me that another lab was also accepted by my insurance. I have to find the name of it again.

Re: Lab Corp?

I have to go to Lab Corp now too. There is one right around the corner from me & they are ok there.

I'm happily switching to a Dr. that does all testing there so I don't have to go anymore.

Re: Lab Corp?

I went to labcorp for my one hour and three hour at two different locations. Both were efficient and I didn't have a wait at all. The offices were brand new and clean and the staff was great.

If your doctor is sending you to Quest and you have Oxford or United, the lab bill will probably become your responsibility.

They covered my 1 hour, but I am just waiting for the bill from the 3 hour, but I agree with you.
