Kitty hasn't found her voice
Bella is 5 months old..very cute a bit independent and stand offish when she's in a mood (typical woman!)
She has not uttered a peep, no meows, no nothing.
I'm wondering if she has a voice box!
Her brother Izzy has a giant mouth but only uses it when he needs sometthing.
Does anyone have a kitty that doesn't meow?

I have 3 cats. One never shuts up, one meows occasionally, and one never meows at all (unless she wants out of a room).

she purrs but that's it.
I think DH stepped on her once by accident and she yelped.
That was the last time I heard a peep ot of her.
DH was so upset that he stepped on her tail..he was a mess all night cuddling her.

I think mine in the beginning was quiet then she found her voice and now she doesn't be quiet. So it is probably there just not used alot. I wouldn't worry or to have peace of mind you can call you vet for advice but it sounds like she is fine.
Aww about your DH mine did the same thing stepping on our cats tail. He was apologizing the whole night.

Re: Kitty hasn't found her voice
My cat who recently passed away, had a very raspy voice her whole life. She wasn't a meower at all. The other one - its non stop meowing and yelling!

Re: Kitty hasn't found her voice
My one cat almost NEVER meows. I've only heard her meow once, and it was more a mew, in her 7yr life so far.

Re: Kitty hasn't found her voice
Some cats are just more vocal than others. I also read somewhere once that when they meow at you, it's a sign of trust... so maybe she just needs some more time to get to know you...
