does anyone know a place that has the more fancy cats. i saw this one cat called a pixie bob i think....they are supposed to be very similar to a dog and loving. anyone have any ideas?

Have about going on petfinders.com and looking at the cats there.
There are so many homeless cats that would make great pets!!

I don't know if I buy into the fact that a certain breed of cat is more loving... it sounds like a marketing tactic. 
There are so many in shelters that desperately need good homes.

No, there actually are certain breeds of cats that are more affectionate than others. I have 2 purebred cats (in addition to my 2 shelter cats), but just as there are with dogs, there is a pixie-bob rescue. FM me if you want more info & good luck

I have a pure breed persian and a rescue cat
the persian (who I adopted when his owner no longer wanted him) is like a puppy, follows me, sleeps on my pillow, etc
the other cat- hates being picked up, we don't even know where she sleeps- (I think in the box spring) she is very indepent

I think it depends on the cat. Between my sister and I we have/had 4 cats -- all from shelters - no purebreeds.
One is loyal like a dog, one is an affectionate mushball that everyone loves, one likes to be around people and the other didn't like to be touched.

I also think it depends on the cat, just like humans, they have different personalities.
All 3 of my cats are total mush balls. They follow DH and I around the house, sit with us while we are watching TV and sleep on the bed with us at night. All three are rescues, mixed breed kitties.
But if you do want a pure-breed cat, look on petfinder or fnd a reputable breeder.
