KitchenAid Mixer
So, I decided I need (want) a good Kitchen Aid mixer for Christmas. I went to look online at pricing and had no idea how many different models there are.
Now I am confused!
Whats the difference between the models and which one do you recommend?

I got the Artisan and love it. I use it for everything. It is so easy and convenient.

Re: KitchenAid Mixer
I have the Artisan type also. The Artisan has the tilt-head on it and I find it easier to use and to get ingredients into. It works like a charm! The Artisan type is the most popular and comes in all sorts of fun colors too! It's probably the cheapest - which is around $150-$200.
My mom had the more professional one with the lift-up bowl, but I found that really annoying to use since it's really hard to get the bowl out and get ingredients into when you are mixing something.
HTH! I love my mixer!

I have the Artisan. I got mine from Kohls I waited until it went on sale and then used a 30% off coupon, I got it for a great price.

Re: KitchenAid Mixer
I have the Artesian one, the 5 qt. My mom had the professional 6 qt one and hated it. She gave it to my cousin and bought herself at 5 qt. one. My father made her buy the 6 qt. one because it was on sale and such a good deal. Men!

My Mom bought me mine, but that's exactly what she did to get it too.

Re: KitchenAid Mixer
I had one that the head did not tilt. It was such a PITA that I sold it. I was never using it. It was one of the most expensive one and a better motor but it was so unpractical to scrap around the edge with the spatula.
Next one is a tilt head one.

Same here, it def has a strong motor but its so annoying not having the tilt head, I wish I would've gotten the artisan one
