Kitchen table/chairs

My parents are being gracious enough to give us there kitchen table. A very expensive table b/c it has oak around the edges but the center is Corian I believe. Really nice.

2 questions... My cabinets are going to be cherry, the table's trim around the edges and legs are oak (legs are not very visible from far away and once chairs are in you can't really see them). I know I can stain them, but we have so much going on, not sure I really want to. I am seeing kitchens sometimes with multiple mixmatching wood types/tones. Would it be wrong to keep it as is or is it best to match it to the cabinets?

2nd... I am on a search for chairs. The one's my parent have are on wheels and swivel which makes me uncomfortable with my very young kids... I also can't get booster seats on them. I originally thought I'd get metal chairs so I don't have to match the oak or cherry, but haven't found any I like and worse, can't find any that are comfortable and VERY sturdy. My 2.5 year old likes to climb so it must be a sturdy chair. Any recommendations? I know it's hard to visualize w/o a photo, I'll try to get one later this week of the table.

I just bought a new table and chairs for the kitchen. I got the Grayson leather Parsons chairs from Pottery Barn. They are comfortable and I love the way they look.
