Kitchen paint color??
Looking for ideas. The kitchen in our house has cherry cabinets and brownish granite. Currently the owner has yellow paint in kitchen--we are so over yellow kitchens as our current kitchen is yellow 
What other color would go with cherry cabinets and brownish granite? We were thinking burnt red but are afraid it will be too much, we will get sick of it etc. Also the kitchen open to our dining room so the colors either have to be the same or in the same family--thanks

What color are the floors? Is there a backsplash?
We had similar colors in the kitchen when we moved in. We tried everything. Thought of using a burnt red or orange. The only thing that looked decent was a cream.

trying to post a picture but it never works for some reason 
backsplash is neutral tan and so are floors. The thing is the kitchen is nice and new but sort of mute looking--would love a color that makes it POP...

Maybe a pale blue or green, if you don't want to stick with a neutral. It's hard to know without seeing, but these articles may be helpful:

Kitchen paint color??
I have a sage green in my kitchen that I love and I think would look great with the colors in your kitchen. My LR also is next to the Kitchen and in the LR I have BM Alexandria Beige. It looks good with the sage green.

BM Olive Branch - looks so nice in a kitchen with darker cabinets.
ETA - I just realized I don't have pics of it, thought I did, but check the color out - it is really nice.
If you are still stuck on the idea of the red, maybe try BM Georgian Brick - out of all the reds I have seen, that's my fave!

We had the same thing! I was looking for a pop too. Had to go with cream b/c everything looked off. I tried sage green, reds, oranges, yellows....you name it.....
I was so annoyed that the color that was in the entry area of the door had to become the kitchen color too.

We did a sage green. The cabinets in our house are more dark honey than cherry but, sage might look nice with cherry too.
