Kitchen Cabinets???
Just started doing our reno for our kitchen and are getting the cabinets. I thought the doors were all wood construction but now my DH just called after meeting with the contractor and they have veneer fronts I think they look cheap and thought I was getting all wood. SO confused...
Anyone have Diamond cabinets and are you happy with them?

Don't get them! Contractors are not the best ppl to get cabinets from. This is such a big ticket item that you need to do alot of price comparison on your own. Don't settle for less. Veneer doors are a big no no!
Diamonds cabinets are ok but I'm surprise their doors are veneer. I got quotes for Diamond cabinets too and wasn't too happy with the price for the limited styles and finishes you get. If your budget is the Diamond quality stuff, check out Thomasville, Merillat or Kraftmaid instead.

Dulcinea is giving you good advice. Don't be afraid to consult a certified kitchen designer. NKBA is a great resource. Here are two articles I think will be helpful:

There are many wonderful designers whose expertise can often save you money in the long run, give you quality, and expert design.

Re: Kitchen Cabinets???
Thanks Ken, I actually use an NKBA designer and have no regrets 'cus she gave me very valuable advice that saved me alot of $ and headache. She knew the city code and designed a layout that worked. We did have to adjust a minor few things 'cus of unexpected issues, but she was helpful in that aspect too.
I also got electrical, plumbing and floor plans that I submitted to the city for permits and that the contractors based their work on. W/o those, it would have been chaos dealing with contractors!
CKGm, if you live in NJ I can point you to some good suppliers/vendors.
