Kindle vs Nook- Any advice WELCOME!
Im getting one for my MIL.
she enjoys reading, a lot and goes to Fl every yr and reads by the pool.
Its a Christmas gift and a budget of $100 and under.
Which would recommend/get?
I know nothing of these at all.
Apparently these dont go on sale I see.
With exception to one at Target on Black Friday and that was sold within 5 min of store opening.
TIA!

Re: Kindle vs Nook- Any advice WELCOME!
I have a 1st gen Nook and a Nook Color. Love them both. I much prefer the e-ink non-color Nook for reading outside, SO much easier to see. It's not impossible to see the color screen, but I have to play with the settings a lot when I'm outside which gets annoying.
Originally I went with Nook over Kindle b/c of the library lending, I didn't like the keypad and at the time Amazon was in a dispute with a big publisher and the next book in a series I love wasn't available in Kindle but was at BN.com.
Now that they both support library lending and both look so similar I don't think that you can go wrong either way.

Id get her either the Kindle Touch or the Nook 2nd Generation... expecially if she reads out in the sunlight.
You cant go wrong either way!

Nook!!!!
The new Nook Touch (e-ink display which is great for outdoor reading plus it has a touch screen!) is normally $99 and BestBuy has it today for $79 with free shipping, plus if you get it through Ebates, you get something like 10% cash back too.

If you have a Shoprite card you can get the Kindle with keyboard 3G with special offers for $84.99. Today only on their website. ETA: We bought FIL the nook last year for xmas and he recommended we get the kindle for MIL and not the nook.

Go to shoprite right online. Under online services, click shop at home. You may have to creat a login and password and input your shoprite card #. Then search for kindle and add it to your cart and check out. If you FM me your email address I can forward you the email.
