Killington

Hi!

Headed to Killing, VT this upcoming weekend. We'll be dedicating one entire day to skiing/snowboarding.. Is there anything else in the area for the other two days we are there that we should check out?

Thanks!

All I ever did when I was there was snowboard or drink so I can't help but I do know the area in general has lots of antiques

Re: Killington

There isn't a ton to do in Killington itself other than winter sports.

I've been a few times for other reasons. It's very pretty there, and there are some very nice sights if you don't mind driving a bit.

The best breakfast I have ever had in my LIFE was the sugar and spice pancakes at Sugar and Spice on route 4 in Mendon, one town over. O M F G. I daydream about those pancakes and I'm not a pancake person.

If you head east on Route 4 towards the NH border, you'll hit a few cute villages with antiques, craft type shops, etc. I think some of the towns are Woodstock and Queeche Gorge. You'll pass some very scenic areas along the river, too.

Killington is about 45 minutes from the King Arthur Bake Shop if you are into cooking or baking (they have a catalog.) Also, it's a little over an hour away from Ben and Jerry's ice cream factory which is great. Montpelier is right off the highway on the way back from B&J and has a few nice restaurants.

Re: Killington

We usually only ski when we are there, but I must eat at Johnny Boy's Pancake House when we are there! They have Amaretto French Toast with Marscapone and Strawberries that is amazing...also, we love Pizza Jerks and Ana's Empanadas...
