How many times a year does your child go for a check up? And how many times do they dialte their eyes?

Our doctor wants my dd to come in every 6 months and they dialte every time. I feel like that is a bit much. But just wanted to see if it is the norm. Thanks!

DS was premature and had ROP. He has been wearing glasses since he is 1, he is now 3. Before 1 he was dilated every time, about every 6-8 weeks. Now he is dilated once a year, but goes every 3 months to have his script checked and make sure the glasses are working.

my dd started wearing them at 3 - she is now 5. they have her come evey 6 months and dialte every time. I just feel like its too much. Once a year I can understand.

I would question the Dr if it is really necessary. There may be a reason why they want to do it so often. If there isn't a valid reason, refuse it the 2nd time of the year.

DS has had glasses since 18 months. He gets seen every 3-4 months and dilated every other time. So every 6-8 months. (Range varies because sometimes I forget to make the appointment! !)

My son got his glasses at about 18 months and is now 4. As of now, he sees the dr every 6 months and gets dilated every other time, so once a year. He used to go every 3 months from about 2 months to 3 years and was dilated every 6 months.

DS goes every six months. He is 4 got glasses in october

my DS is 5 and has had glasses since he's 11 months. He goes every 3 months and every other time they dilate.

Once a year for the whole thing. My son is 7, got a very mild prescription at 6. He was moving too close to the TV and would hold his head very close to his school work. He sees almost the same without them. He would be able to tell me if it changes. The doctor thinks his vision could be stable like this for years.
