Kids fitbit watch
My son's 8th birthday is coming up. Last night we were with his cousins and his cousin who's going to be 9 soon has one. DS said he wanted one too. Worth getting?
Thanks!

Kids fitbit watch
My personal opinion....I wouldn't get it because of the radiation exposure on a developing child 24/7. Someone bought my DD one, and I took it back. I'm sure it's a small amount of radiation, but I'm not comfy with that at all. With that said, tons of kids at school have them I've noticed.

Re: Kids fitbit watch
I got my DS one for Christmas. He loves it, he competes with all his friends and even teachers at school for steps each day lol. He turned 8 in December. I'll be honest, I kind of figured he would have lost it by now, but he charges it himself and takes very good care of it.

I'm glad I am not the only one who worries about stuff like that. I won't even get one for myself and am always telling my sister and the friends that have them, to get rid of them. It can't be good down the line.

Re: Kids fitbit watch
I never heard of a kids fitbit watch which one is it? I tried to goggle it and none of them came up.
My 6 year old DD asked me fro one cause I got one recently but I told her she has her smartwatch which has a tracker on it but she doesn't even ever use the smartwatch so there would be no way I would buy her a new one right now.

I will say I just got the fit blaze and I didn't like the green light that was on all the time to register my heart beat so I did turn the heart beat fearture off because I thought it can be good to have this on all the time

That's what I'm saying. When you research this, there just isn't enough info out there yet regarding exposure. But, I see stuff everyday saying to limit ipod/ipad, etc. usage in kids because it DOES have a harmful effect on their still developing bodies. So I don't know how 24/7 radiation on their wrist would be any different.

That is probably the least worry, it seems like it just takes your pulse, and being on your wrist, that probably relays the vibration of your pulse through your fitbit. Like if you just put your finger there. I would be more concerned about the "bluetooth" aspect of it.
