Kids and the phone (cute story)

Well this is a cute story now but wasn't at the time. Lauren (Michaelsmommy) this happened today when I called Patty.

I call the house and get the machine so I start leaving a message when my friends daughter (3 yrs old) answers the phone.

Me: Hi Devin its Aunt Colleen
Devin: Hi
Me: What are you doing
Devin: Waching TV
Me: Where's Mommy
Devin: Mommy's sleeping
Me: Mommy's sleeping still. You're all by yourself
Devin: Yea, mommy's sleeping
Me: Can you go wake mommy up for me
Devin: Ok..(at this point she is yelling Mommy Wake Up a couple of times)
Devin: Mommy's sleepng
Me: Devin are you in mommys room
Devin: Yes
Me: Can you shake mommy and tell her to wake up
Devin: Ok (mommy wake up, mommy wake up) Mommy's still sleeping
Me: are you shaking her
Devin: Yes. I have to go potty
Me: Ok wake up Mommy first
Devin: I have to go Poopie

Then she hangs up the phone.
Now I am freaking out that something happened to my friend.I call another friend ofmine to see if she has the husbands cell phone number. She doesn't answer, so I call my friends dad and get his girlfriend on the phone and tell her the whole story (by the way my friend lives in TEXAS) she calls the husband and gets his voice mail. She then calls my friends mother who lives in Texas to go and check on her.

Ps: I call back to get Devin on the phone again and get the machine.As
I'm talking my friend answers the phone. She was never sleeping. She was outside putting water In Devins pool.

When she asked her why she said Mommy was sleeping she said she didn't know.
I think I will be hiding the phone when my DD is old enough to answer it.

Cute story but agree with the funny/scary thing.

Maddie once answered the phone & told my friend that no one was home. My friend called me, I called home & said "Where's Daddy?"

She said "He's outside giving the lawn a haircut."
