Keeping Bread Fresh
My SIL asked me to bring bread for xmas, but I'll have to buy it the day before because nothing is open on xmas. Any tips on keeping it fresh?

I would buy it as late in the day as I could on xmas eve. Leave it in the paper bag and then wrap it with saran wrap or a plastic shopping bag with as much are squeezed out as possible. Most of the bakeries in my area are open Christmas morning though. I would check.

This But it sometimes will take the crunch out of the crust. So I would put it in the oven for a little before they serve it. To bring it back to life

Yes this. We do this all the time when we buy a loaf of bread and don't finish it. Its great the next day after we put it in the oven

Re: Keeping Bread Fresh
Are you open to buying a parbaked loaf? You could pop it in the oven day of for like 5-10 mins to finish baking and it will taste totally fresh.

A lot of bakeries are open on Christmas morning. They close early though.
