Kanye West Bids Mom Teary Farewell at Funeral

The funeral for Donda West was held Tuesday in Spencer, Okla., drawing her tearful son Kanye and music stars Jay-Z, Beyoncé and Anita Baker.

Kanye West broke down while talking about his mother, whose champagne-colored coffin arrived at the True Vine Ministries church in a white hearse. He said he wanted her not to "rest in peace, but rest in paradise," according to Entertainment Tonight.

In his brief speech, the rapper also told people he was saying a few words because his mother would have wanted him to and would have told him to "get up there," guests told PEOPLE.

Baker sang "Summertime" while John Legend played the piano. Donda West was a big fan of Baker's and had attended her show in Los Angeles just a few weeks ago. R&B star Erykah Badu and rapper/producer Pharrell Williams also attended.

"It was a beautiful service," says a guest.

Donda West, 58, died Nov. 10 a day after having plastic surgery. The coroner says she died of apparent surgical complications.

I've contemplated getting lipo in the past, but it's stories like this that bring me back to earth and back on the treadmill.
