Just some advice
If you have 'plans', make sure you have some backup too.
I planned on BF for the first 6 weeks of DS's life. I figured that I didn't need to buy or clean any bottles. I figured I didn't need any formula on hand.
Well, I had a rough delivery and gave birth to an 11 1/2 pound baby. Not only did he need my pathetic milk supply, but he needed much more. He left the hospital LONG before I did. (Even though he was in NICU)
My feeding plan went out the window. We were very lucky that we had the samples sent from the formula companies. I pumped breastmilk as much as I could from the hospital. But my poor DH had to clean bottles to feed DS those first few weeks.
I just want you to know you should be prepared for anything. Good luck to you all!!!

Re: Just some advice
Thanks so much for the tip! I do plan on trying to breastfeed but I am also going to prepare bottles just in case. You never know what could happen.

Re: Just some advice
I agree! I have a ton of unopened bottles from my cousin just in case. I also have some samples of formula and some cans that a friend gave me.
Guess we'll just have to go with the flow, so to speak.

Re: Just some advice
Along the same lines, a lot of people will tell you if you're planning on BFing, don't buy a pump until you know you can/are committed to BFing. I ended up buying a pump right before DS was born and I'm really glad I did. I didn't open it just in case I needed to return it. I ended up needing to pump right away though so it was good that I had it on hand.
Also, in terms of sleeping, you never know what your baby will like. Our furniture still hasn't arrived yet , but we planned on using the pack 'n play at the beginning anyway. Unfortunately, DS won't sleep in anything but our arms at night. Just be prepared for anything.
