@ the library in Baldwin. I think my son will be the youngest in the group though. He will be 4 days shy of 4 months at our first group. Any of you ladies attend a group at the library? how did you like it?

I met a great group of ladies through one group and they introduced me to (more) library programs..they are addicting and so much fun--best part is they are usually low cost or free and it gets you out of the house and meeting new people! Babies get to love music and socializing as well..wish I weren't working and could make more of them!

Re: just signed up for my local "Mother's center circle"

I signed up for this group for this session. I went only once so far (missed 2 sessions bc of apptmtsChat Icon ). Someone else there has a newborn. The 1st meeting was just ok - the entire thing was dominated by one mom talking about her D&C. It was very traumatic for her. What I didn't like was that the moderator did not try to make it more of a group and invite comments nor try to get anyone else to share their experiences. Some people in the group know each other from having attended the mother's circle in the past. Personally I'm still on the fence. I'll decide by this Friday whether or not to continue. I feel bad missing meetings when someone else could have my spot. DS is sick with a fever so we'll see.

I say try it. You might find you really like it and meet someone you click with. We go to a playgroup at the library on wednesdays for 1-3 yr olds and that works well for us.

I've been taking library classes for over a year now with the little girl that I babysit for. What I love about it is that you meet so many families with the same aged kids as you who are right in your school district.

Our library starts at 3 months. DS was a few days shy when he started. He's now 2 and we still go to classes and have regular playdates with the moms we've met. It's a nice group to find friends because the kids will eventually go to school together. We've learned so much to do at each age/stage and DS loves just going to the library.
