Just passed the 10,000 kWh mark with the solar panels!!!
We just passed 10,000 total kWhs generated by the solar panels. Had them put in last February. I figure we'll break even just before 100,000 kWhs at today's prices. Even with last year's dark, grey year, it would take 14 years to break even, but I don't recall a year that gloomy before in my life. We're well ahead of last year's benchmark already this year, so I do think we'll be able to break even somewhere around 11 years, if LIPA's rates don't ever increase.
