Just looking for some hugs tonight
I was diagnosed with diabetes in December, but had it confirmed by an endocronologist in the beginning of March. Because we would like to try getting pregnant, the Endocronologist put me on insulin, as he says that is safter than taking the medication I was taking. In addition to giving myself a shot 2 times a day, every day, I also have to prick my finger 4 times a day to check my blood glucose level, and I am also tyring to eat better, to lose some weight, to get beyond this...
I just started insulin last monday, and sometimes I just feel so anxious and nervous and scared, my heart starts beating really fast when I go to give myself these injections. The injections do not even hurt at all, but just seeing it go in my skin, freaks me out.
My levels have been getting pretty good, so I know I am doing something right, but its still hard.
Just having some ups and downs with this battle, and was hoping you could throw a few hugs my way...

Stay strong, it's a huge adjustment. I have a friend who was diagnosed w/diabetes a few years ago and the first few months were rought.

I did join a forum (like this) that has helped me tremendously. The "moderator" lives out here in RI! Small world! And, when I called tne nurse educator this week with my numbers, she said its really good. So, maybe I will be a skinny rail next time you see me!

I went thru that for only two weeks in Jan and hated it. I feel for you. I am so very sorry.
