Just got back from the RE.
So I'm on CD 45, BFN and AF nowhere in sight. I just went to the RE and he prescribed Provera, HSG, Clomid, SA for DH. He said we could go straight to IUI or just try the old fashioned way for a few cycles before we go to IUI, assuming the SA is normal. I think we'll do that probably for 3 months or so before we take that next jump - any opinions?
DH is being pretty good about the whole thing right now. It helps that his best friend has been through a ton of IF treatments so he knows the drill.
I have to say, though, that I'm a little sad right now. I mean, I knew it was coming to this but it doesn't make it easier, you know?

Re: Just got back from the RE.
First I wanted to send you some hugs...
Next... Was this your first RE appointment...trying to get an idea what my first RE appointment is going to be next week.
DH and I went through tests in April....would this be the first time you are going to get an HSG and DH a SA?

I think it is good that you saw the RE and he has given you a good course of action. I know it's sad, I remember the first time I went and I just couldn't get over it. You will feel better about it

Re: Just got back from the RE.
Thanks everyone for all the hugs...
LovingLife this is my second appointment with this RE. My first appointment I had some bloodwork and a sonogram to confirm PCOS. I previously had the glucose tolerance, etc. back when they first suspected PCOS. DH has not had any testing other than the cystic fibrosis test because I am a carrier (he's not).
At the first appointment we also discussed different options, depending on how aggressive we want to be, etc.
The RE told us to just give it a shot this past month and if I didn't get my period (or a BFP) by the end of June to come in and we'd start the next steps. Of course AF hasn't shown yet. So today was just a consult and some bloodwork. They are going to call me tomorrow and assuming everything is a "go" I can start the provera tomorrow to get AF on her way. Then I'll start the clomid on Day 3 of my period. I have to schedule the HSG between day 6 and 11. ETA: This is my first HSG.

Thank you for responding....I'm so scared of my first appointment.
Good luck...you seem to be under good hands.

Re: Just got back from the RE.
Don't be scared, you'll be fine. DH didn't even come with me because I went in the middle of the day. It is comforting to have a plan.

Re: Just got back from the RE.
So sorry. I know the feeling, we are just starting down this path too. It's like in one sense you can breathe a little by putting your problems in the doctors hands, but on the other side you realize this is not anything you ever expected. Good luck and hopefully you get that beautiful BFP soon
