Just Because I am Married?
I just got married at the end of August. I just had a meeting and I was told " The wedding is over, now is the time " , he meant to start really working apparently. So really because I was getting married was my work subpar? I don't think so.
I work my butt off, and sat down at my desk and realize it was a back insult.

That was definitely an insult!
Something like that happened to me yesterdayat DD's party. Someone said, oh, now that the party is done, you will get some work done at the office
 
I did not do an ounce of party planning at the office thank you very much!!

i had the same thing! i saved nearly all my planning for after work, but still got the *eye* from co-workers who were obviously just jealous that i was getting married at all!!
the worst, though, was this lovely woman in my office who jsut had a baby in january. she chose to work till the end but wasn't getting any new assignments becaues the work takes 1-2 months to complete, and she obviously wasn't going to be around that long. some woman actually made a comment that PG woman was getting paid to sit on her a$$!! i know for a fact that she WORKED until the end, on something that she could have left for her supervisor, but didn't!
some people just need to shut it!

thanks for the support! I traveled for business two weeks after I got home from the honeymoon. Then traveled 3 weeks later, and sacrificed a weekend.
I mean we all get bogged down in some of the minutia of our job but you don't have to blame it on me being married.
Can't wait til I get preggers and see what they say about that.

if they are the kind of person who always has something to say, i'll bet when you get PG you'll get the same response...
is this person your direct supervisor? my advice would be that if they feel your work needs improvement (even if it doesn't and they are just b!tching) that you should ask for a quarterly review with advice on what areas you need to work on and ways you can improve your performance - and if they cannot come up with anything specific, then you'll have your answer.

I'm not sure I would have been offended by that comment. It's just human nature to get a bit distracted at work when there's a huge event going on in your personal life -- I know I've been guilty of this, even though I try to focus.
