Just a PSA about car seats in FL
For all theses people that are nervous about renting a seat.
I am in fl now and found out that if a car is in an accident the sheriff will confiscate the car seat. Also you can rent seats from the local sheriffs office.

You do have to be careful about the rentals though as one I rented from a car rental had the straps in incorrectly and food caked in the clip (at crotch).
Maybe Sheriff office is better way to go!

Yeah plus you still don't know if the straps have ever been washed if it's been peed/pooped/vomited on. Or if the police weren't called during an accident. Or if it was thrown across a room in storage. All reasons that would make it unsafe for use.

While that is good to know I totally agree with what Jax said.
Plus, I would much rather have my child sit in the seat on the plane anyway.

I'm in Florida now also and we rented a lot of stuff, including a car seat from an independent rental place, Abc guest rentals. They gave us a brand new britax seat and it was sooo much cheaper than doing it from the car rental place.
