Jones Beach Light Show

This year my son has become really interested in Xmas lights, so we were thinking of taking him to the Jones Beach light show. We've never been but was just looking for any info. I saw you can buy tix online ahead of time. Does that save any time? Any other advice? Get there early in the night?

TIA!

Re: Jones Beach Light Show

we went the night before thanksgiving around 6:30pm and it was empty. I was told the earlier you go, the less crowded. We had purchased a groupon in advance, but we still needed to stop at the ticket booth to show them the voucher, so I am not certain if buying in advance really saves time.
wed is also pet night, so when we stopped at the pavilion the kids were thrilled to play with the dogs.

We got a groupon last year and went probably about the week before Christmas, on a Wednesday night. It was a real sh!t show. We waited at least an hour to get in and by then I was not impressed at all by the lights. In fact, I thought it was kind of stupid. This year, I have been taking DS to private homes that do them up and he has been completely floored. No wait, free and the kid is happy. There is one in Deer Park that is awesome. You can walk around on their property. I'm sure normal people are there for like 15 minutes but we were there for closer to an hour because he was staring at each and every thing on the property.

Re: Jones Beach Light Show

We went and kids had a blast

We got there at 5 and was empty

Went to Santa's village, got their pic taken. Had a s'mores station,a room with cartoons and a ice skating rink

Also there is a small
Hay maze. And IMO lights were much better this year than last

Both. We bought at the booth. It's cash only or you can buy online prior.

I'm not sure. The night we went it was raining so we didn't do it.
