Johnny has swine flu...terrified about ryan getting it...
He started tamiflu last night and had his first symptoms yesterday so hopefully it helps! I checked him at 1am and there was no fever..checked him again at 4am and still cool...but he went to bed with close to a 104 :(
I am just so so nervous for baby Ryan. He is just 4 months old today actually..
I am supposed to be hosting thanksgiving on top of it all and we are playing it by ear right now. I just don't know what to do!? This stinks. I am obviously most concerned about the kids..thanksgiving will have to not happen this year if need be...anyone have any advice?

Personally, If it were me I would cancel Thanksgiving at my house. I would just want to stay home with the kids this week.
Curious what did your doctor say, did he give you an percautions to take regarding your 4 month old? I have a son the same age and just curious. I don't understand the when it's really contagious and not.

The only precautions were to keep johnny away from ryan, disinfect house with lysol spray etc...Its contagious when they are presenting with symptoms (cough and fever).
I am calling pediatrician today to ask about ryan (if he should be seen or tested..). He has no fever and seems ok but has a stuffy nose. I hate this!!!!

I hope he feels better asap!!! How old is Johnny?? and did he receive the vaccine?? i only ask cause joenicks son had swine flu even with the vaccine. This flu is making me nuts. I hope you all stay healthy and have a great thanksgiving.

I am glad it sounds like the tamiflu is working and I hope he is better soon.
It must be very hard to keep them apart - I wouldn't know where to start with my girls if I had to do that.
I would however cancel thanksgiving b.c if he got it yesterday he is probably only going to be really recovering by then and you all might be contagious (the incubation period I think is a 2-7 days).
I hope he has a speedy recovery.
