Job Application Related Question
What is the etiquette regarding following up on a resume submitted via email?
There is an agency I just applied to work for, and you had to email your resume. I didn't receive any confirmation, and would really like to call to check up that they received it, and when I can expect to hear from them.
Is it bad etiquette to call? If not, what do I say? I don't want to sound too desperate, even though I am. I sent the resume on Friday.
TIA!

Re: Job Application Related Question
having experience in HR/Recruiting in the past, I think it is totally acceptable to call and just make sure they received it. Following up once will not make you look desparate. Its the people that call several times for updates that get annoying. I think if you call and just make sure they received it you are totally fine.

Re: Job Application Related Question
Thanks for your advice! When I called to follow up, they told me they hadn't been able to open my resume due to the edition of Word that I used. I sent it in the body of the email this time.
Fingers crossed!!!!!

Good luck. For future reference, feel free to send it as a pdf. That way your formatting, etc. will be saved.
