JHS - pros and cons
It dawned on me the other day, that all my hair problems would be solved if I had straight hair.
My hair is not super curly and now that its longer the curls give way shortly after drying and its kind of just wavy.
JHS is what I would need, right?
How long does it last, what happens when it runs out?
I'll be honest and I've ignored all the posts all along, because I just didn't consider it for some reason.

Re: JHS - pros and cons
Pros: -air dries perfect with no frizz -i spend zero time doing my hair (as it grows out spend maybe 5 mins on the roots) -my hair is not damaged from the JHS compared to the amount of damage saved from not blowdrying and using flat iron
Cons -very annoying to grow out. i get it touched up once a year and by the year end the roots are out of control! -people say its the same look every day. While this is true, my hair is still able to hold a curl (very thick hair) for special occasions.
For me, the amount of time I save on my hair makes me want to do JHS forever. No more hours of blowdrying in the heat only to have my hair turn out frizzy. It is perfectly straight and smooth every day, and I just wash and go.

I agree with Julz.
My ends are very dry and dead looking with is the biggest con to me. Also, when it starts growing out, you have to blow or flat iron the roots. Otherwise, I love it!!

Re: JHS - pros and cons
I would beg to differ about hair not being damaged
I didn't think mine was- until recently when I started having alot of breakage and regrowth of the breakage- they call them "baby hairs"- I call it damage
my hair was once had body
and now after 11 months of no JHS- it is starting to again
I have tons of broken peices- and I am going to try brazil instead

I agree... although I did love JHS overall, here are my thoughts.
Its WAY too straight when you first get it, (It sounds like we have identical hair.. though lately i've been able to hold the curl better with sea spray and a difuser)
I did JHS twice, about 15 months apart. Since my hair wasnt/isnt super curly the regrowth really didnt bother me cause it was a quick blow out up top and I was good to go. It holds up in even the most humid of days, but it takes ALL body out of your hair. My hair grows like weeds, but I am about 2 years out from when I last got it done and the last inch of my hair still is stick straight, i'm about to chop that off and be done with it!
I did notice I lost a decent amount of hair from it and also had those "baby hairs" start to grow, which was super annoying.
Would I recommend it? Yes I guess so, but probably only to people who have very curly hair. I dont think I will ever do it again. My hair is still very healthy, didnt really dry out from it but obviously it did something to make me lose a decent amount and it was more than the "dead" hair.

Re: JHS - pros and cons
I just redid my hair for the 3rd time. I absolutely love it. Totally worth the $. I have very thick curly hair and it's nice to actually wash and go and not worry about frizzy hair or product. If I had to use product on my hair it would be A LOT of product.
I <3 JHS

What kind of hair did you have before you did anything?

Re: JHS - pros and cons
I am wondering what type of haircut you have bc that might make a difference in what you choose. I had JHS 2x and yes it made a huge difference in my life but I wear bangs and I hate the bangs with the JHS. Too stick straight. I have seen some pics of other people here with JHS and when the don't have bangs, I love how it looks. I just got a keratin straightening and I love it. now I understand why everyone raves over it. It has so much more body and life than my hair did with JHS. I don't know what happens when it "wears out" (vs the JHS growing out) but it is so manageable even in today's weather. My hair is naturally also not curly but not straight and having kids changed the texture too bc in the past i dont remember it being so unmanageable.
