Jessica Simpson sets a wedding date
Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson will be starting their marriage with a bang! The star, 33, and her fiance, 34, plan to tie the knot in a wedding over the July 4 weekend, a source reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.
The couple -- who have two kids together, daughter Maxwell, 2, and son Ace, 10 months -- will say "I do" in Santa Barbara, Calif., the source says. (As previously reported by Us Weekly, they originally planned to wed in Capri, Italy, but decided it was "too much" to ask their friends to fly to Europe.)
Another interesting detail about their upcoming nuptials? Like Kaley Cuoco, Avril Lavigne, and Jessica Biel before her, Simpson isn't wearing white. "Jessica is having something unique made," the source shares. "It will be very different from the Vera Wang she wore to wed Nick Lachey [in 2002]."
The singer's second wedding is a long time coming. She and former NFL pro Johnson first got engaged back in November 2010, just five months after they started dating. Wedding plans were put on hold, however, for the nearly back-to-back births of their children. But the time is finally right.
"We are very close to sending out our invites," she told USA Today at the White House Correspondents' Dinner earlier this month. "I've been very picky on how I want everything to look and feel. Eric's family alone is almost 90 people, so it'll definitely be a big event."

Honestly I thought they were married already.
I can't keep up with these celebs and who is married, who is engaged, who has 3 kids before tying the knot, who is divorced...

Agreed! Seriously, who cares? When you've been engaged for a hundred years, already living together, already have a bunch of kids together, who really cares that you finally set a date? People have such an obsession with being the center of attention. Every time they fart they need an applause. How long will it be before she's on husband #3?
